Rod Bernsen arrested

Former Fox 11 reporter and KFI fill-in host (as well as retired LAPD sergeant) Rod Bernsen will be charged in federal court Tuesday in connection with "an investigation into alleged inappropriate conduct with children on a cruise ship," KFI's Eric Leonard reports tonight. He says that Bernsen was arrested by FBI agents over the weekend and is being held without bail in the Long Beach city jail. Leonard reported the news at the top of the hour on KFI and it's also on his blog at the KFI website.

Bernsen had been a media relations officer for the LAPD and took up reporting at Channel 11 after he retired. He left Fox in 2004, reported briefly as a fill-in for Channel 4, then last year signed on as a substitute talk host on KFI.

Others: Channel 11 reports on its website that Bernsen was arrested Saturday.

Update: Jury finds Bernsen not guilty
