South El Monte mayor Blanca Figueroa has been given an 11 p.m. curfew. She's been known to stay in her office at city hall deep into the pre-dawn hours, but the city council voted 4-1 to bar her and others from staying late. "Figueroa says she needs to work late to keep up with myriad letters, emails and requests from constituents, after spending her days going to meetings" says blogger Rebecca Kimitch. The mayor was advised to work from home using a city-issued laptop computer and cell phone.
