Jennifer Bjorklund back on NBC 4 air from Prescott (video)

bjorklund-prescott-grab.jpgJennifer Bjorklund was dropped in 2011 as an anchor and reporter at Channel 4, to the audible dismay of her colleagues. No one likes to see friends or colleagues lose their jobs, but the reaction to Bjorklund being let go seemed from the outside to be real shock and pain. I haven't heard much about her since, just that she was married last April to Jonathan Lloyd of the NBC 4 website team. Today she reported — for NBC 4 — on the tough story from Prescott, Arizona as the town reeled from yesterday's deaths of 19 firefighters.

After seeing her report, I guess I'd want to ask the suits at NBC 4 what exactly does she fail to bring to the air? Geez. But actually, the VP for News who got rid of Bjorklund, Vickie Burns, left the station herself last year. NBC 4 staffers are gathering at reporter Conan Nolan's Facebook page to welcome Bjorklund back on their air. "So nice to see her back on television," Nolan posts. "Viewers appreciate when you send a professional to cover a story of this magnitude." 43 likes so far and you can almost feel the commenters cheering for her. More of the same on Bjorklund's page. "While the story was a difficult one to cover, you handled it with skill, class and a sense of professionalism," writes a friend. "Great to see you back on TV, where you belong, and hope this is the start of something big."

Update: Bjorklund explained on social media that she was freelancing for NBC's news feeds operation.
