Among the many losses of the fires in 2018 was the hawk's nest near Mulholland Highway. First the nest was gone, tinder in the face of those flames, then a week later the tree collapsed. Now we've found another nest in another part of the Santa Monica mountains, the same stern structure, and with a hawk nearby, maybe planning for the future.
