A step back in time with Jake and puppy Maisie. This was their first day together, the start of an instant and lifelong bond. In fact, it was Maisie's endless grief after Jake's passing that brought us to Walt. I had heard about animals mourning but had never seen it first-hand. So in came a four-month-old border collie and at first, being annoyed with him gave Maisie a new lease on life. He adored her and her heart eventually softened, but Jake was always her true love.
