'American Taliban' *

| 41 Comments | 1 TrackBack

The controversy over the ACLU pressuring Los Angeles County to remove a small cross from the official county seal (which was designed by the father of Mayor Jim Hahn) is heating up, drawing a crowd to today's county supervisors meeting. Many were inspired to turn out by local AM talk show host Dennis Prager, whose otherwise thoughtful points on the issue may be obscured by derisive laughter at his comparing — in writing — the ACLU and longtime supervisors Zev Yaroslavsky, Gloria Molina and Yvonne Burke to Islamic fundamentalist crazies.

What we have here is an American version of the Taliban. The ACLU and the supervisors are leftist versions of the Taliban -- attempting to erase the Christian history of America just as the Muslim Taliban tried to erase the Buddhist history of Afghanistan when they blew up ancient Buddhist sculptures in their country.

Yeah, just like that.

* Update: The Times counts 700 protesters at the meeting, the Daily News 2,000. But the supes didn't budge.
