More talk radio 'genius'

The Times' sports columnist-provocateur T.J. Simers notes today that Scott Kaplan, who co-hosts the morning sports talk on AM 1090, said of the teenager who accused Kobe Bryant: "This girl should be strung up, or kicked out of the country." In AM talk lingo, he's a moron. Simers goes on to take apart the general sucking up to Bryant by other local on-air talent throughout the case. Deeper in the sports section, Larry Stewart speculates that Clear Channel will shuffle its AM station lineup and move the sports talk shows now heard on 690 and 1150 to KLAC (570), the Lakers' station. If it happens, he writes, 690 would become an oldies station and 1150 would become the new Los Angeles affiliate of the liberal Air America network. Haven't heard about them in a while.
