New radio station

At noon today, the Spanish-language music station at 93.5 FM flipped over to hip-hop, proclaiming itself the successor to the late KDAY, the first stop for hip-hop on L.A. airwaves. Michael Schneider blogs some background. Today was also ratings day in local radio: Power 106 remained the top station in Southern California and KFI the top talk station. And: Readers of Don Barrett's L.A. Radio pay site voted Howard Stern the year's #1 on-air personality. Clear Channel's Roy Laughlin was named the top local off-air radio figure.
