She nods, and they begin to edge carefully down the steep incline.

EXT. MT. LEE ROAD - NIGHT

Deland and Wayne watch the crash in dismay. Bony moves toward the gaping hole in the fence.

DELAND
Let’s get out of here. The cops’ll be here soon.
WAYNE
Don’t worry about the cops. We leave here without doing our job, we’ll all wish we were in that car with Alphonse.
DELAND
And what exactly is our job?
WAYNE
The mayor and the girl. And you too, if you give us any trouble.
BONY
Come on, this way!

Wayne motions Deland ahead toward the opening in the fence, and the three of them start to make their way down the mountainside.

EXT. MT. LEE - NIGHT

Napolitano and Rachel make it down to level ground, at the base of the HOLLYWOOD SIGN. Napolitano waves his arms at the motion detectors attached to the back of the sign.

RACHEL
What if they follow us?
NAPOLITANO
You let me take care of that.

They begin moving toward the front of the sign.

EXT. MT. LEE - NIGHT

Wayne, Deland and Bony descend down the mountain. Bony loses his balance and slides down the path, coming to a stop, about twenty feet down. As Wayne carefully goes to make sure he’s okay, Deland spots some movement down by the sign. Wayne notices that Deland is hanging back.
