NAPOLITANO

Watches haplessly, then jogs into the intersection toward his disabled car.

INT. BENTLEY – MOVING - NIGHT

Sydney Pizer lolls next to Rachel in the back, cutting lines of cocaine on a pull-down tray. The two Ninjas up front have removed their hoods. They are the Dark-Haired Man and the Bald Man -- Sydney’s muscle at the Brentwood party.

SYDNEY
Your mother will be so glad to know you’re all right.

He hands Rachel a silver straw, and she snorts up a line of coke.

The big man opens his arms, and she slides over and against him. He looks down at her and kisses her full on the mouth. She whimpers and responds eagerly.

INT. CITY HALL - MAYOR’S OFFICE – DAY

Sam fusses with paperwork, making neat piles on Napolitano’s desk. Deland and Gallardo lounge in leather chairs against the wall. Neither looks happy to be there.

SAM
Tell me again how you lost him coming out of the club.
DELAND
Shut up, Sam.
GALLARDO
This is not good. We've gotta call this in.
DELAND
What we gotta do is sit tight. I’ve seen him in worse jackpots.
GALLARDO
I’m not worried about him. I could lose my badge over this.
