INT./EXT. NAPOLITANO’S CAR – MOMENTS LATER - NIGHT

Cruising south on Western, out of Koreatown. Napolitano keeps an eye on Rachel as she opens her purse... relaxes when she pulls out a handkerchief. She dabs at her eyes, while arranging something in the purse.

CLOSE ON THE PURSE

Rachel checks a text message on her iPhone: “PULL OVER. -- S.”

IN THE CAR

Rachel closes the bag and glances at the side mirror. Napolitano notices and looks in the rear-view. Nothing. He studies Rachel. Then --

RACHEL
I’m sorry. Everything’s just so fucked up.
NAPOLITANO
You kiss your mother with that mouth?
RACHEL
Yeah, do you?

Napolitano doesn’t appreciate the question.

RACHEL
Whatever, just pull over, I’ll tell you what I know.

Napolitano keeps driving, across Olympic.

NAPOLITANO
You can start with where your mother is.
RACHEL
You have no idea what it’s like being her daughter. Okay, so you’re fifty, you’re a has-been, get over it, you know?
NAPOLITANO
Where is she, Rachel?
