INT. THE ORDER HQ - SOLARIUM - NIGHT

Duvane's back is to Napolitano and Robert as they enter on the far side of the vast room. Pyramidal glass walls fade into shadow above. In the center of the floor, a huge crystal globe slowly rotates.

DUVANE
Thank you, Robert. You may close the door.

Robert's face registers the slightest sting, and he leaves the two men alone. The warm light from the hall disappears.

NAPOLITANO
Nice digs.
DUVANE
The solarium is far more inspirational by day. But then, so are all things in the healing energy of the sun.
NAPOLITANO
I don’t know, I’ve always been more of a night guy myself.

Duvane turns and walks toward Napolitano. Each man takes the other’s measure, as they meet near the globe.

NAPOLITANO

I want to thank you for contributing to my campaign.
DUVANE
That was a year ago.
NAPOLITANO
Consider this three years early.

They smile, shake hands firmly. They try to assess each other, but both men are inscrutable.

DUVANE
Robert said you were interested in Susan Harmon. Yes, she’s here, on the path to enlightenment. Is she a friend?
NAPOLITANO
Is Susan here now?
